Kivo source code

Kivo for iOS is an independent ZhiEra LLC project derived from the open-source Signal iOS client and distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPLv3).

Independence notice: Kivo is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Signal Messenger, LLC or the Signal Technology Foundation. Signal and related logos and marks belong to their respective owners.

Repository

The Kivo iOS development repository is available at github.com/sowhat1010/Signal-iOS. The upstream Signal iOS repository is available at github.com/signalapp/Signal-iOS. Kivo's current engineering baseline derives from Signal iOS 8.25.0.1809.

The complete license is included as LICENSE in the Kivo repository. Original copyright and SPDX notices are retained. Kivo-specific modifications are copyright ZhiEra LLC where applicable. The AGPL license does not grant rights to Signal trademarks.

What Kivo changes

Kivo uses its own brand and independently operated services. The App Store Lite client replaces phone-number onboarding with a locally protected, non-custodial EVM wallet identity and adds username or exact-wallet-address discovery while retaining private messaging, groups, media sharing, and audio/video calling. The Lite release does not include markets, token prices, RWA/tokenized securities, asset rankings, swaps, transaction execution, DApp browsing, external-wallet connection, or a public social feed.

Version-specific corresponding source

For each public App Store version, Kivo will link the immutable source tag and archive corresponding to the distributed binary. A moving development branch is not a substitute for a version-specific release.

Running network-service source

Kivo also publishes corresponding source for modified AGPL services made available to users over the network. Service archives contain source and reproducible configuration interfaces, never production credentials, signing keys, or user data.

The service rows above map the currently running App Store Lite service releases to immutable source archives and recorded runtime hashes. They do not include production credentials, signing keys, or user data.

If a public Kivo build is installed but its exact source link is missing, email business@zhiera.com with the version and build shown in Kivo settings. Do not include wallet secrets.

Building and reporting issues

Build instructions, dependency pins, license notices, and Kivo implementation notes are published with the source. Reproducible client bugs may be reported through GitHub Issues. Use private email for security reports or anything containing personal information.
